52 Small Goal Ideas for 2017

As the new year approaches, I love to reflect and ponder goals I’ve made and plan on making. If you can’t tell already, I’m a self-help junkie. I believe we should learn to be content, but never be complacent. There is a difference. 

I’m a huge advocate for personal growth and that’s why I’ve put together this list of small goal ideas. I am in no way suggesting that all of these ideas be implemented at once or that I have attained everything on this list! Here are 52 small goal ideas for 2017!

  1. Write down something everyday for which you are thankful.
  2. Read at least one chapter of the Bible everyday.
  3. Pray 20 minutes more everyday.
  4. Do one random act of kindness every month.
  5. Take a 10 minute walk everyday.
  6. Read one new book per month.
  7. Schedule more family gatherings.
  8. Tell someone why you appreciate them every week.
  9. Develop/perfect a morning routine.
  10. Get adequate sleep.
  11. Start meal planning every week.
  12. Take your vitamin every day.
  13. Spend 10 minutes every evening preparing for the next day.
  14. Fast one day per week.
  15. Stick to a cleaning schedule.
  16. Drink at least 1 glass of water every day.
  17. Go screen free one day per month. 
  18. Delete your social media apps for 1 week each month.
  19. Schedule date night each month with your spouse.
  20. Go on a spending fast.
  21. Schedule time with your grandparents/parents.
  22. Try cooking at least 1 more meal at home every week.
  23. Create a budget that correlates with your pay schedule (weekly, biweekly, monthly)
  24. Ask someone how they are everyday and truly listen to their reply.
  25. Read a book to your child/children everyday.
  26. Tell God that you trust Him everyday.
  27. Teach your children a life lesson every week.
  28. Tell someone your testimony once a week.

  34. Write down what you hope to accomplish the next day at work and leave it on your desk.
  35. Put your phone away while you drive.
  36. Schedule a day every 3 months to get pictures from your phone developed.
  37. Try a new recipe every week.
  38. Use an app like MyFitnessPal to track your food everyday.
  39. Don’t eat after 8 pm every night.
  40. Find a way to serve your community every month or quarter.
  41. Get rid of something that is no longer useful every day or every week.
  42. Declare a clutter-free zone and keep it.
  43. Declare a clean-up time every evening before bed.
  44. Schedule time to stay at home.
  45. Load the dishwasher every night.
  46. Try to be 10 minutes early to commitments.
  47. Give yourself an extra 50% of estimated time to complete a large project.
  48. Fold and put up laundry immediately
  49. Train for a 5K race.
  50. Recite Deuteronomy 6:4 to your children daily.
