The past year has been one of great learning! I’ve had a revelation when it comes to my health! For years I have been suffering from extreme fatigue and lethargy, wondering how I would have the energy to make it through each day. Last year I discovered minimalism and all the great benefits it can have on your life by creating more time and reducing stress. Although it has helped me tremendously, I still suffered from just flat out exhaustion.
Through lab testing, I’ve discovered that every time my immune system gets low, the Epstein Barr virus that I’ve had for years flares up and makes me feel absolutely horrible! If you’ve ever had Mono you know how terrible this virus is! I’ve also discovered that my Vitamin D (critical to immune health) was extremely low.
The biggest revelation I’ve had is that our lifestyle choices can mostly determine our health. There is a very small genetic factor (much lower than I originally thought), but our food, sleep, exercise, air quality, stress level, time spent outdoors, spiritual health, etc. plays the biggest part in determining whether or not we are healthy. When we tweak and address these areas of our lives we can transform our health by leaps and bounds. This is really common sense but I was totally missing it!
If you had told me a few years ago that the way I was eating and sleeping could be making me tired, I would have thought you were crazy! This just goes to show that we are all at different places in our openness to health knowledge. When you pray and ask God for wisdom, knowledge and understanding, He will hear you and give it to you!
He will not just show you the truth about Biblical salvation, but He will show you how to live a better and more abundant life down here! I don’t believe it is God’s desire for me to be exhausted and sick all the time. I know it is God’s will for me to have life and life more abundantly!
I’m writing about this because I want to raise awareness that there is a better way to live and that it is important to take care of ourselves! Sharing this message is a lot like sharing the Gospel, some are open and some are not. Perhaps you are like me and it takes a little time to open up to new ideas. I am still compelled to share! What I’ve learned is that the moment we take responsibility for our own actions is the moment we can be changed, transformed and healed. The moment we confess our sins is the moment we can be forgiven. There is a better way to live! “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32
